To this extent, as a practice <span style="font-style:italic;">blogbiting</span> accepts the absurdity, the triviality, as well as the remarkability of keeping a journal. The archivist simply comes across stories of personal and ordinary circumstances. Cut and paste; afford the appropriate link; grant authorship; and in doing so divert attention away from the archive to the story and the situation of its teller. <br /><br />In a sense "biting" connotes grabbing a hold of, seizing, ripping off, but in this context the bite is a move towards rumination, and thus (in)digestion. Again, much like blogging itself, one tries to seize some happening and give it due consideration. For instance, part of the struggle and the impetus of blogging, like keeping a journal, is to engage with the banal so as to supersede or understand its banality.
